Is Chime accepted at Klarna?
This is one of the most often asked questions throughout all of the United States, yet until now, there hasn’t been a comprehensive explanation to be found anywhere online.
Does Chime work with Klarna?
Short Answer: Chime is not affiliated with Klarna in any way. Unfortunately, the Chime debit card cannot be used in conjunction with Klarna. While it’s unlikely, you may still be able to use your Chime credit builder card with Klarna.
When customers try to use their Chime debit card (powered by Visa) with Klarna, they are met with an error notification. The warning reads, “Please use a different card; we don’t support your bank’s card yet. We are constantly working to increase coverage.”
When we consider what Klarna is trying to convey by means of this error message, we may deduce that Chime and Klarna are incompatible with one another. They impose restrictions on the Chime card’s use precisely because of this.
It’s intriguing that rumors have circulated about the Chime credit card maker integrating with Klarna. It has been claimed on Reddit and Twitter that the Chime credit card builder is compatible with the Klarna payment system, however, there have been counterclaims stating that this is not the case.
Accordingly, the Chime debit card most certainly does not function with Klarna, however, the Chime credit builder could. Give it a go, by all means. So, why not use a Chime credit card to see whether Klarna really accepts it? Here’s what you can do next:

Step 2: Go to your ‘My Klarna’ settings
Step 3: Pick the ‘Payment methods’ option.

Does Klarna accept credit cards?
Klarna takes debit and credit cards from all the major issuers, including Visa, Discover, Maestro, and Mastercard, with the exception of Capital One, which does not allow Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) items. Additionally, credit cards are not accepted by Klarna as a form of payment for transactions made using the Klarna Card.
On their customer support website, Klarna makes it quite apparent that they accept the vast majority of debit and credit cards currently in circulation. There were Mastercard, American Express, Visa, Discover, and others on the list. It’s important to keep in mind, however, that Klarna does not accept American Express cards when generating a One-time card.
Additionally, Capital One places limitations on the use of its customers’ credit cards for transactions made via Klarna. 1. Why doesn’t Klarna Accept Chime?
Until we hear otherwise from Klarna’s management, we’ll just have to make do with a broad explanation for why they won’t accept Chime.
In response to a question posed by a random App user in the month of November 2021, Klarna said: “Unfortunately, we were forced to stop accepting Chime because of many denied payments. That, in turn, caused our customers to incur fees and, in some instances, led to collections accounts.”
Clearly, the payment rejection concerns have led to Klarna temporarily suspending Chime Card acceptance.
2. Does Klarna accept Venmo or Cash App?
Both the Venmo Debit Card and the Cash App card are examples of prepaid cards; hence, Klarna does not recognize either one of these cards as a form of payment.
However, as was previously indicated, activating Apple Pay as a payment method in Klarna and transferring your Cash App money to Apple Pay is one non-traditional option to consider.
Unfortunately, you cannot use Apple Pay in addition to Venmo since the two services are incompatible. It’s worth noting that Klarna doesn’t accept payments from Venmo debit cards, but you may try using your Venmo credit card instead.
It’s common knowledge that Chime is one of the leading U.S.-based banking services, if not the biggest. Chime also provides debit and credit cards that are universally recognized since they are enabled by Visa. Although the Chime card is widely accepted, there are still certain stores and services, such as Klarna, that do not accept it.
